For Rob Heimrod, hard work isn't just part of the job. It's a way of life.

Raised on a farm just outside Elkhorn, Nebraska, Rob learned early on the value of putting in the work, getting his hands dirty, and doing things right. What started at 18 years old in landscaping and hardscape construction grew into a career spanning 20 years, with experience in masonry, erosion control, heavy highway construction with Kiewit, and everything in between.

Today, as the owner of Tru-Grit Builders, Rob brings that experience and a hands-on approach to every project. From excavation and retaining walls to concrete and general construction, he takes pride in tackling challenging jobs, finding solutions, and building things that last.

Hardworking, determined, and admittedly a little hardheaded when it comes to getting things right, Rob believes quality craftsmanship, honest communication, and treating every property like his own should be the standard, not the exception.

Outside of work, he's a dedicated husband and dad, a loyal Nebraska football fan, a Marvel enthusiast, and someone who's always willing to lend a hand when it's needed.

For Rob, Tru-Grit is more than a business. It's a reflection of where he came from, what he believes in, and the kind of work he's proud to put his name on.

We engaged Tru-Grit Builders to rebuild our front retaining wall with new block, and our back retaining wall that was leaning with existing block

The team arrived on Monday morning and the front wall and half of the back wall torn down on the first day. During the week we received 7 inches of rain but the team continued working to complete the rebuild within one week All equipment used, blocks delivered, dirt and rock we ordered by Tru-Grit and delivered on time to keep the project on schedule.

Throughout the project, the team was very professional and kind, and followed through on additional things that needed to be completed.

After walls were completed, and the ground dried out from all the rain, the final grading, seeding, and matting was completed a week later.

I’m extremely happy with how professional the walls look, and would recommend Tru-Grit Builders to anyone who wants a job done right, and a job that will last!
